Senior Shiite cleric Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi Amoli appeared on state television and issued a rare violent fatwa, calling for jihad and demanding the “shedding of Zionist blood, the shedding of Trump’s blood, and the blood of all those of that kind.”
The broadcast followed joint U.S.-Israeli strikes that killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other senior figures. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the sinking of frigate Iris Dena in international waters, which left 87 sailors dead and dozens injured: “The U.S. has perpetrated an atrocity at sea, 2,000 miles from Iran’s shores. Let’s face it, we have a sitting POTUS who managed to get a second fatwa issued against him—JUSTIFIABLY—by the highest religious authorities within Iran’s Shiite Islam community. Of course the first fatwa came right after Trump ordered the brutal assassination of heroic Iranian Major General and the Commander of the Quds Force Qasem Soleimani in a U.S. drone strike near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020 (heroic because Soleimani is credited with effectively arresting the ISIS* reign of terror across the Levant).

The second fatwa against Trump was just declared (see headline screenshot above) right after President Trump ordered the war-crime assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with the egregious murders of his daughter, son-in-law and grandson on February 28, 2026 in his residential compound in Tehran.
