Former Miss Switzerland Accuses Trump of Rape

A former Miss Switzerland alleges that President Donald Trump raped her while she was in the U.S. for a pageant in 1993.

Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee included the allegation in a report released on Monday.

Beatrice Keul told Democratic staffers on the committee that the alleged assault happened in a hotel suite in New York in November 1993 after she interacted with Trump and his then-associate Jeffrey Epstein.

She told staff members on the committee that she met Trump at a press luncheon for the American Dream Pageant at the Plaza Hotel, which Trump owned at the time.

“During their at least 15-minute introductory conversation, Trump promised Keul that he would arrange a visa for her, stating that ‘Paolo’—a reference to Paolo Zampolli—would ‘take care of that,’” the report said. “Trump further stated that he personally would ensure her acceptance into New York University (NYU). And he repeatedly offered to take care of her and arrange her travel, insisting either ‘I will take care of you’ or, when she said she could handle her own visa, ‘No no, my friend Paolo will take care of that.’”

(Incidentally, Zampolli left the Trump administration this month after a fight over email.)

Keul, who was 24 at the time, said that immediately after her conversation with Trump, Epstein approached her and introduced himself as “Don’s best friend” and told her that she would be taken care of.

“Flights, accommodations, you don’t have to worry about anything,” Epstein allegedly told her.

Later that day, a Trump representative invited Keul to a suite upstairs in the hotel to meet with Trump again. Keul said she obliged and that Trump subsequently raped her:

Later that day, Donald Trump’s representative invited Keul to go upstairs at the Plaza Hotel to meet with Trump. Believing this meeting to be a lucky break for the purpose of furthering her career and education, Keul accompanied Trump’s representative upstairs. He ushered her into the suite, where upon entering, Trump reportedly grabbed Keul from behind and forcibly raped her; in the process, tearing her dress and causing bleeding and bruising on multiple parts of her body. Keul described the rape as “brutal.” Following the assault, according to Keul’s report, Trump sat her on the edge of the bed, repeated his promises to arrange for a visa and NYU admission, and made her promise she would keep quiet, saying, “[T]he show must go on.”

Keul reports that she finished the pageant in a terrified “daze” as her passport had been taken from her on her arrival. She did not ask for her passport to be returned before the contest was over, lest she indicate to Trump that something was wrong. During the pageant, she was also summoned, along with four other models, to a private audition with John Casablancas, who made her walk for him and made similar promises about taking care of her. She returned to Switzerland, declining to participate in an additional Trump-sponsored pageant in Hawaii several weeks later. Several months after the assault, Trump called Keul in Switzerland and reiterated his offer to set her up with a visa and admission to NYU. She declined.

Keul’s accusation has not been independently verified, and the White House forcefully denies the allegation.

“This ‘report’ is nothing more than a desperate attempt by crazed Democrats to distract Americans from the surging Republican momentum driven by President Trump’s historic achievements,” the White House said, claiming that Trump has been “fully exonerated of anything related to Epstein.”

The report stated that multiple witnesses said Trump was also interested in meeting with an 18-year-old Czech contestant in the pageant named Terezie, who was staying with Trump’s then-wife, Ivana Trump.

“Terezie informed Keul that Terezie would win the pageant due to her closeness with Donald Trump and stated that she intended to marry him,” the report stated. “Similarly, in 1997, Jill Harth, the organizer of the contest, claimed in a sexual assault lawsuit against Trump that on or around November 20, 1993, Trump demanded she provide him ‘with access to a 17-year-old [sic] contestant from Czechoslovakia, who was a contestant in the ‘Calendar Girl’ competition, whom Trump referred to as a ‘sex object.’ This description of a young Czech model largely matches Keul’s description of Terezie, who was brought to New York for the “Calendar Girl’ competition, the last day of which was November 20, 1993.”

The report includes accusations from four other women who, it was previously revealed, have accused Trump of sexual assault.

In 2023, a civil jury found Trump liable for sexually assaulting the writer E. Jean Carroll in a Manhattan department store in the mid 1990s. He was also found liable for defaming her.

In May of this year, the Department of Justice launched an investigation into Carroll.
