The apparent thaw between Russia and the U. S. is likely a pre-election ploy by President Trump to stave off the predicted Blue-Wave mid-term debacle his party faces on November 3rd.
Having failed miserably to keep his 2024 campaign promises to rapidly end the war in Ukraine and bring peace to the Mid-East, his misguided adventure against Iran has triggered an ugly response from an electorate more concerned with affordability issues than the increasing possibility of a nuclear conflict as part of WW3.
We even have Trump stalwarts like his son Don, Jr. and Peter Thiel expressing concern about his Iran attack as they publicly withdraw their support.
Irrespective of all that, the otherwise irrational and perhaps cognitively challenged president has done the right thing in sucking up to Vlad at this delicate moment. As I expressed in previous articles, there is a better way forward as many knowledgeable folks have been exclaiming for years that relies on commerce and the economic self-interest of the key players rather than turning to military solutions to achieve similar results. https://stateofthenation.info/?p=6680
The bipartisan opposition to Trump’s gambit merely reinforces my own theme of political corruption dominating the process and the urgent need for replacing virtually the entire government. https://stateofthenation.info/?p=84330
The potentially good news is that we are a mere 4 weeks away from Trump, Putin and Xi being able to act consistent with the above suggestion to diffuse the crisis by turning to trade, prosperity and peace instead of endless wars during the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation Summit in China……….what some are labeling Yalta 2.

I’ll leave it like that for now and let voters decide how to act consistent with their expressed disgust with the legitimacy of our system in the hope that we can bring about change without more unrest like that which is unfolding in living color across Europe and elsewhere even as I write.
