We won’t even post the utter garbage that has been posted online about Peter Spiegel especially the absurdly malicious YouTube videos. [One video was purposefully titled in the most misleading manner: “Exposing the largest human trafficking ring in the world”.]

KEY POINT: The stunningly reckless producer of that slanderous and libelous video is one “Reckless Ben” who has 2.28M subscribers by producing tabloid trash day after day.  The concerned video has over 15.6 million views after only 4 days which is totally insane.  What’s even more telling about America’s Idiocracy is that every single comment posted under the video, and there are well over 40,000 posted thus far, are ignorantly commending “Reckless Ben” for his despicable hatchet job.

With only 5 minutes of sleuthing on the Internet anyone can plainly see that CEO philanthropist Peter Spiegel is getting roasted for doing what he thought was a act of great magnanimity for a spiritual teacher from India.

What follows is just one short analysis and very credible analysis of what happened to the clearly innocent Spiegel.

Originally wrote this as a reply to u/Gohab2001 but am posting to the main sub for clarification purposes.

“Agree with you that the timeline is murky at best. Case in point–the videos filmed outside the temple are stamped with a date of 2022. But why would Ben have been filming the temple in 2022 if the media “coverup” wasn’t until 2025?

However, a few things are true. As has been pointed out by others, Peter did pay the bail for Prakashanand Saraswati, the guru who was convicted of child molestation in the US but disappeared during his sentencing, and is now on Interpol’s Red Notice. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prakashanand_Saraswati for some information on him.

You mentioned that you did not find “any allegations of rape against ‘Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat’ except from the woman in the video.” Understandable, since that is the name of the religious organization, not the individual. His assumed title is Jagadguru Kripalu Maharaj, birth name Ram Kripalu Tripathi. He was in fact accused twice, once in India and once in Trinidad & Tobago. Both cases were ultimately dismissed due to lack of evidence. See https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kripalu_Maharaj&diff=prev&oldid=1350118569 for some information on him. While I cannot find any documents related to the Trinidad & Tobago case, I can find you some Indian court documents: https://indiankanoon.org/docfragment/150462/?big=3&formInput=molest . Regardless, this individual has been dead since 2013.

I think Ben’s title to the video is rather Read: [VERY] misleading. He isn’t at all exposing the world’s largest human trafficking ring, which is probably in North Korea (see Global Slavery Index https://www.walkfree.org/global-slavery-index/ and Global Organized Crime Index https://ocindex.net/rankings/human-trafficking ) or other war/poverty-torn countries like Eritrea, Afghanistan, Myanmar, etc.

What seems most likely to me is this:

    1. Peter Spiegel is simply an enormously wealthy businessman, entrepreneur, and CEO in California who, like many in that class, is drawn to alternative forms of spirituality.  Spiegel probably falls into a camp that believes in a New Age type Hindu spiritualism. If you take a look at the website of the temple mentioned ( https://www.radhakrishnadham.org ), you can see why it might be appealing. Perhaps he became friends with the gurus themselves, or perhaps he simply became friends with other worshippers at the temple.
    2. I cannot find his net worth online, but assuming the temple told him one of the gurus was having “financial difficulties” (ie. needed bond posted), he might have offered or been asked to contribute financially. Others in this sub have noted (correctly) that is seems strange for anyone to post bail for an individual held for child molestation. Agreed, it is abnormal. [However, we don’t know if Peter was even aware of those old accusations that were dismissed.]
    3. Spiegel did not know about the plans to smuggle the guru to Mexico and then fly him to India. When he learned that the guru had jumped ship, so to speak, he was left holding the bond. The temple worshippers didn’t mind because they knew he could afford it, but he was so embarrassed over the incident he tries to avoid thinking or speaking about it at all. Hence why his company is so aggressive in preventing anyone, press or otherwise, from bringing it to light.
    4. The FBI might have declined to pursue for many reasons. Do not underestimate how much the US is trying to avoid straining relationships with India. Having the FBI track down and extradite Saraswati could cause a legal and logistical nightmare for both countries, particularly if his followers protest. Please look up the protests caused when the US arrested a single Indian diplomat suspected of Visa fraud ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devyani_Khobragade_incident ). You get the picture.
    5. At the end of the day, what are you left with? Maybe a crooked rapist Indian guru masquerading as avatar of Krishna.  They fleeced a wealthy American CEO into bailing out their guru out so he could flee the US. He is now left to defend himself from scrutiny over his financial ties while still trying to stay active in the temple. And his empire is trying (understandably) to deflect fake media criticism that paints him as the funder of an ‘international child trafficking ring’ [which simply does not even exist].

For me to believe otherwise, I need hard evidence, not hearsay or phone interviews or poorly edited YouTube videos.
