Dr. Nazee Moinian: Iranian “spokesperson”
or Zionist mouthpiece?

Submitted by Anonymous
Dr. Nazee Moinian has been repeatedly featured and given significant media exposure as a commentator on geopolitical issues relating to Iran. However, audiences are rarely – if ever – provided with relevant contextual information regarding her personal and professional connections that may assist viewers in assessing her perspectives and potential biases.
For example, public records indicate that Dr. Moinian’s billionaire husband (Joseph Moinian) has a suite of companies listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) and is one of the largest donors to AIPAC: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
Despite this, such connections are not disclosed when Dr. Moinian is presented as an independent commentator or representative voice on matters concerning Iran.
The material set out below raises further questions regarding Dr. Moinian’s role and affiliations. Although she describes herself as an ‘Iranian national’ living in the United States, she is frequently presented by broadcasters as a spokesperson for, or representative of, Iranian public opinion. In numerous media appearances, she has argued that the majority of Iranian’s support the war on their home soil waged by Israel and the United States, often framing her views as reflective of broader sentiment within Iran.
All indicators point towards Dr. Moinian being a Zionist operative. The production teams and media outlets either do not undertake any background checks on Ms Moinian, or they are complicit in the fact that she is a Jewish Iranian and staunch supporter of a Greater Israel (as a member of the Israel Lobby), whose family emigrated following the overthrow of the Shah in 1979. This context is never disclosed, and instead she is simply presented as a spokesperson for the Iranian diaspora.
The central concern is not that Ms Moinian holds these views, but that audiences are not provided with sufficient information to evaluate them in their full context. Media organisations and production teams should undertake appropriate due diligence and disclose any relevant affiliations, relationships, or interests that may reasonably be considered material to a contributor’s commentary. Without such transparency, viewers may be left with an incomplete understanding of the background and perspectives of individuals presented as authoritative voices on complex geopolitical issues.
Just some of the evidence that Dr Moinian is a mouthpiece for the Israel lobby – including statements that are nothing short of outrageous – are listed below:

Looking to deepen the divide between the regime and its people, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly reached out to Iranians’ hearts and minds stating that he is not at war with the “great” and “brave” Iranian people, but with the Iranian regime. “We are clearing the path for you to achieve your objective, which is freedom,” he said as the war began.
College campus activism mirrors Iran pre-revolution: Professor (24 June 2025).
Nazee Moinian, an Iranian-born adjunct fellow at The Middle East Institute, believes the activism being seen on U.S. college campuses mirrors Iran before the Islamic revolution.
“One thing that I can tell you with certainty is that what we’re seeing now on college campuses across the US and in Europe is almost an exact replay of what happened in Iran before the Islamic Revolution,” Moinian said.
“If we don’t wake up now, if we don’t address this movement that has brainwashed our youth, [that] has basically turned their priorities upside down, has masked the truth, has made victimisation and martyrdom a glorious state of thinking, we will end up where the western liberal values will be marginalised.
