The Russian authorities have begun demolishing an illegal occult compound described as a ‘Satanic Temple’ in Moscow Region, which long outraged local residents with animal-bone rituals and swarms of acolytes.
The demolition work began after a local court ruled that the three-story building – which served as the headquarters of the ‘Empire of the Strongest Witches’ sect – was built illegally.
Demolition crews moved in on Wednesday at the Zaytsevo village site near the town of Zaraysk around 120 km south of Moscow, after the Zaraysk City Court ruled that the 280-square-meter structure, which was styled as a ‘Temple of Saturn’ – was built without a permit on land zoned for farming.
