First a short history lesson on the utterly disastrous Equal Rights Amendment—one of the first initiatives of Cultural Marxism launched in 1923 but given much more momentum by the U.S. Congress in 1972.

Opponents argue the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) is flawed because it is redundant to existing 14th Amendment protections, expired, and could cause drastic, unintended consequences. Key concerns include the elimination of single-sex spaces (prisons, bathrooms, sports), subjecting women to the draft, undermining alimony/child support rights, and impacting abortion access

Some of the Key Arguments Regarding the Serious Flaws of the Equal Right Amendment:

• Legal Redundancy and Potential Harm: Critics argue that the 14th Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause already prohibits sex-based discrimination. They suggest the ERA would actually remove sex-based protections that currently exist for women.
• Social and Legal Ramifications: Concerns exist that strict legal equality would prohibit the government from acting “on account of sex,” meaning it could abolish sex-segregated spaces like public restrooms or locker rooms. Others argue it could lead to drafting women into the military or invalidating family laws that protect women regarding alimony and child support.
• Invalid Ratification Deadline: Many scholars argue the 1972 ERA is invalid because its seven-year ratification deadline passed, meaning the current efforts to ratify it are legally flawed, according to the Heritage Foundation.
• Uncertain Legal Interpretation: On various forum discussing the ERA amendment, it was pointed out that the ERA might fail to protect women as intended because courts have traditionally treated sex-based discrimination differently than racial discrimination.
• Impact on Social Issues: Some perspectives highlighted by critics argue the ERA could codify abortion rights and restrict religious freedom as noted by the Catholic Church. 

Ultimately, opponents, particularly during the 1970s, believed the ERA would eliminate necessary protections and distinctions between men and women.
