Knew it the second they announced the death of Charlie Kirk that the moment had arrived for Generations X,Y, Z and Alpha.
No, Charlie Kirk was certainly not a “President John F. Kennedy”, but the sublime spirit that he embodied was quite similar to the ever-charismatic and visionary Kennedy. For Charlie also stood for truth and justice, peace and brotherhood, not only here in the USA but around the whole world as well.
But I think it was the second Charlie was shot that the debilitating sinking feeling began to indicate that what we were all witnessing was a “Kennedy assassination” moment.
And that means that those younger generations will each be compelled to pick up the torch and climb the mountain that we Boomers and our older Beatnik brothers and sister were motivated to ascend.
Incidentally, how that translated in the 1960s and ’70s was through the antiwar protests and peace movements that sprang us across the country especially on college campuses and university grounds.
Truth be told, the Boomers and Beatniks joined forces to literally shut down the Vietnam war—the first time such an awesome feat had ever been accomplished in human history. Until the 1970s, no war had ever been terminated by a popular movement.
Which is why the Military Industrial Complex wanted Charlie out of the way for sure.
So what do we see going forward?
Only the youth of America can shut down these horrendous wars as the hippies did in the 196s and 70s. Now that 60 years have passed, it’s time for this nation’s incessant warmongering to stop. For the unprovoked wars of naked aggression are leaving an indelible stain on America’s soul.
Charlie Kirk once said he expected to be killed by Ukraine for his vigorous opposition to their war with Russia which was started by the United States. Let’s ensure his peacemaking was not conducted in vain.
