SOTN Site Status Report (Updated 6/22)

First of all, the SOTN team wants to thanks everyone who contacted us to convey their tremendous support and often overwhelming feedback.  Virtually every person who wrote expressed that State of the Nation is their number 1 website and/or it’s the very first news platform they visit every day.  What can we say to that?!  But “Thank You!!!”

Over the past 17 years, we have never really heard from you folks as we did when our future was recently put in serious jeopardy.  Now that we know how so many people feel we do have much more incentive to, at the very least, keep the 6 websites up as libraries/archives.

Most SOTN followers do not know, but we made a point over the past 13 years of posting very important articles from other excellent truth websites which are no longer on the Internet.  In other words, our websites, such as The Millennium Report, are the only sites that have copies of valuable archival material and historical records.

Which brings us to our first and last donation campaign of June 2025 which will be ending on June 30th.  While we have received a number of contributions, the total amount received is not nearly enough to fund our major website expenses coming due this year.  Therefore, we ask that anyone who plans on giving to this cause, please consider doing so by the end of June.

Our intuitive assessment as to why donation receipts clearly have not matched the authentically expressed enthusiasm is as follows: Most of our followers are simple humble people searching for the truth; they’re not company slaves making big bucks on the plantation of Corporate America.  Secondly, we are all living through the unreported “Second Great Depression” since 2008, and also during the greatest inflationary period in U.S. history, so cash flow is very tight for many.  Thirdly, there are more Alt Media platforms than ever out there and the vast majority of them are forever soliciting funds from their readerships/viewerships so there is clearly donation fatigue setting in, especially after so many desperate sites have been demonetized and/or deplatformed over the years.

One last major reason is this: the SOTN team assembled over the past several years to, first and foremost, perform a public service and not to function as a business entity or profit center.  Hence, we have no advertising and never will (who would ever advertise at SOTN anyway); we sell no stuff and never will (we’re not businessmen, we’re investigative journalists and conspiracy realists, geopolitical analysts and political strategists); we have no donation button and never will (it would get hacked and abused by every inimical cyber crackerjack out there).  Therefore, this will be our only donation campaign to raise the funds necessary to either archive the sites or maintain them as libraries.  All of our sites are heavily interlinked with each other so it’s essential for them all to be saved in a manner that maintains their active interfacing.

That’s it, SOTNers.

We’re continuing our donation campaign for the next 11 days so let’s see where this takes us.  Currently these are the ways to contribute to SOTN:

We receive donations via Zelle, PayPal as well as other
payment methods provided by both the Square and
PayPal credit card platforms (credit card payments are
highly secure and privately input by the donor).
For those who want to contribute by either check or
cash, we are working on that and will inform asap.

Prospective donors can also email us at either of the two email addresses below to discuss any special arrangement needed to make a completely private and/or large donation.

SOTNeditor@protonmail.com  &  SOTNeditor1@gmail.com

Many thanks to all concerned!  The outpouring of support and sincere gratitude has been very much appreciated.

Michael Thomas, Editor
for the SOTN Team

Special Note: What follows is just one example of the kinds of obstacles that SOTN is confronted with on a regular basis.  The “Access Denied” screenshot dated today and posted below indicates that our ISP will not permit us to even get into our GoDaddy hosting service account.  In other words, for days now, not only are we unable to get into our dashboard, no variation of any url with GoDaddy.com in it will come up for us, which essentially blocks us from using our own hosting service. tracking security threats, etc.  Talk about stealthy institutional cyber censorship and digital sabotage!

The upshot of this ongoing predicament for 17 years is that we are forced to spend hours upon hours upon hours with all sorts of tech people both diagnosing and resolving these never-ending problems.  And, by the way, we have no webmaster or SEO expert, no developer or coder to fix these issues as those techies all require serious funding.  This is not a gripe session, just a reality check so folks understand what a little truth-telling site like SOTN has to deal with.

UPDATE  (6/22)

Just an FYI that this SOTN donation campaign is the first one
ever in 17 years, and will be last one ending on June 30.

We are receiving donations to cover all of the 2025 renewals
for 6 websites—all SOTN libraries and directly affiliated and
interlinked Alt Media sites. The renewals include all hosting
service fees on 2 different servers, domain names and privacy,
as well as a comprehensive, top-tier, security package for each
site.

Because of the various problems with viruses and malware,
we also require the services of a cyber-security tech, software
developer and/or coder to clean up a lot of damage inflicted
over the years when we could not afford those services.
Just getting the site search engines to work properly is going
to be a big job, so we are told because of how those functions
have been sabotaged over the years.

As a result of all SOTN social media accounts being either
deplatformed and/or demonetized everywhere, we are also
looking for an SEO crackerjack who can be trusted.  Even our
search engine traffic has been pushed down to practically zero;
and that referral source used to be the primary way that new
visitors found us.

Lastly, we are looking into the possibility of setting up an
archive(s) for all the sites for reasons previously stated. We
are still receiving ideas about how to best to perform that task
as well as estimates.  The costs of conducting the multi-site
clean-up job is also a big unknown as quotes will be forth-
coming.
