The X owner initially made the proposal amid accusations that the encyclopedia has an embedded left-leaning bias.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, one X user recalled Musk\u2019s offer, to which the billionaire replied\u00a0<em>\u201cTrue. Offer still stands.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, Musk claimed that Wikipedia was\u00a0<em>\u201cbroken\u201d<\/em>\u00a0and urged to\u00a0<em>\u201cfix Wokipedia\u201d<\/em>\u00a0amid accusations that the website allows articles that brand Republicans and US President-elect Donald Trump as\u00a0<em>\u201cfascist\u201d<\/em>\u00a0and promote other left-wing narratives while painting the political right in a negative light. He claimed that the encyclopedia is\u00a0<em>\u201ccontrolled by far-left activists\u201d<\/em>\u00a0and urged people to stop donating to it.<\/p>\n<p>Musk has also questioned why the Wikimedia Foundation has been asking for large amounts of money, arguing that\u00a0<em>\u201cit certainly isn\u2019t needed to operate Wikipedia\u201d<\/em>\u00a0because\u00a0<em>\u201cyou can literally fit a copy of the entire text on your phone.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The website previously explained in a community note that while a text and English-only copy of Wikipedia was about 51GB, the entire encyclopedia, including all the media and other languages weighs some 428TB.
