They married in Budapest.[3] They went to Italy, where they stayed in a displaced persons camp for 3+1\u20442 years.\u00a0 As the Kushners had family in the United States, they were admitted to the country in 1949, and settled in New York City.\u00a0 Yossel took Rae\u2019s last name and passed himself off as his father-in-law\u2019s son.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0Yossel, now going by the name of Joseph, began building apartments in New Jersey in partnership with Harry and Joseph Wilf.[2] Joseph and Rae had a daughter, Linda, in the displaced persons camp. After coming to the United States, they had two sons, Murray and Charles, and another daughter, Esther.\u00a0 Rae died in 2004.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to The Times of Israel, in 1949, they immigrated to New York where they raised their four children, including sons Murray and Charles. After immigrating to America, he was able to find employment as a construction worker. According to the book \u201cIvanka Trump and Jared Kushner,\u201d he pursued that career for several years, saving money and acclimating to his new life, before eventually purchasing land with several partners and building new apartments and single-family homes. Eventually, the elder Kushner amassed a portfolio of 4,000 New Jersey apartments.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">n 1985, Charles Kushner, who\u2019d previously trained as a lawyer but had recently started his own real estate business after being inspired by his father\u2019s success, partnered with Joseph. The duo dubbed their newly formed business Kushner Companies. Months later, Joseph passed away from a stroke at the age of 62.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Undeterred, Charles continued to grow the business, eventually amassing over 25,000 apartments, \u201cas well as commercial real estate, industrial and retail space, hotels, and undeveloped land\u201d (via \u201cIvanka Trump and Jared Kushner\u201d). It is irrelevant to Israel-Palestine, being very distant and having never played a significant role in the conflict. The Moroccan monarchy does also have an obsession with the Iranian threat, since it sees Tehran as promoting anti-monarchical republicanism.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Emirates is fabulously wealthy and only has a million citizen-residents (along with another eight million largely Indian and Pakistani guest workers). The government is therefore not afraid of public opinion. It is not, by the way, very concerned about Iran. Dubai banks have laundered money for Iranian ones and the two countries do a lot of business with each other, some of it off the books.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the UAE, the Abraham Accords were\u00a0 more about currying favor with the Trump administration and gaining access to Israeli technology than about Iran. Nor is the Emirates of much use in any U.S. conflict with Iran, being such a tiny state.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Sudan was under heavy U.S. sanctions for terrorism and genocide under the old government of Omar al-Bashir, although a popular revolution overthrew Bashir in 2019.
