(NewsNation<\/a>) \u2014 New photographs appear to show President Donald Trump examining a poster about the demolition of the Kennedy Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n The photos were taken through the windows of Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews, as the president made a return trip from his visit to Gastonia, North Carolina.<\/p>\n They show a partially visible poster with the words Kennedy Center and a partially visible word that appears to be demolished.<\/p>\n The photos come after Trump made comments suggesting the building could be demolished<\/a> if repairs do not move forward, something Trump has said will only happen if he is allowed to add his name to the building.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019ll end up being ripped down. It\u2019s in very, very bad shape, very dangerous shape,\u201d Trump said Wednesday.<\/p>\n The Trump-aligned board voted to close the center<\/a> last week after a federal judge ruled that Trump\u2019s name was added to the building illegally<\/a> and could not be included unless authorized by Congress. The president\u2019s name was removed from the building<\/a> following that order.<\/p>\n Rep. Joyce Beatty, D-Ohio, requested in an emergency hearing to block what she called the unlawful closure of the center.<\/p>\n In a court filing<\/a>, a legal member of the team wrote that she had seen a forklift run into pillars of the building several times.<\/p>\n \u201cGiven the unexplained and unlawful closure, it is possible Defendants intend to undertake immediate steps in order to make public access practically impossible for the foreseeable future, including by demolishing public avenues of access to the building, and thereby evade the court\u2019s order,\u201d a filing said.<\/p>\n Trump\u2019s second term has been marked by construction projects, including those done without oversight or public review.<\/p>\n The administration demolished the East Wing<\/a> of the White House and began construction on a ballroom<\/a>, projects which have faced legal challenges. Trump also bypassed usual approval processes to begin construction on a helipad<\/a> at the White House.<\/p>\n The president has also embarked on controversial work on the Reflecting Pool<\/a> on the National Mall, has plans to build a triumphal arch<\/a> and is considering a golf course renovation<\/a> in the nation\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n
