Keir Starmer<\/a><\/span>\u00a0is as ‘guilty as anyone’ over failures to tackle\u00a0grooming gangs<\/a><\/span>, a former detective claimed last night.<\/p>\n As pressure mounted on the Government to deliver a public inquiry into the scandal, whistleblower Maggie Oliver said she had no faith in the Prime Minister’s desire to get to the truth.<\/p>\n Ms Oliver, who helped expose the failure to tackle paedophile gangs in Rochdale, intervened after\u00a0Labour<\/a><\/span>\u00a0blocked calls for a public inquiry into rape and sexual abuse by gangs in neighbouring Oldham.<\/p>\n It came as Sir Keir was drawn into an extraordinary public spat with\u00a0Elon Musk<\/a><\/span>\u00a0over his handling of the scandal during his five years as Director of Public Prosecutions.<\/p>\n The world’s richest man said the Prime Minister was ‘complicit’ in ‘the worst mass\u00a0crime<\/a><\/span>\u00a0in the history of Britain’.<\/p>\n Tesla<\/a><\/span>\u00a0founder Mr Musk, who has emerged as\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a><\/span>‘s right-hand man, also launched a vitriolic attack on safeguarding minister Jess Phillips over her decision to refuse a public inquiry, which triggered the latest row.<\/p>\n Mr Musk also shared a post asking whether\u00a0King Charles<\/a><\/span>\u00a0‘should dissolve Parliament and order a\u00a0general election<\/a><\/span>\u2026 for the sake and security’ of Britain.<\/p>\n In a further sign of diplomatic trouble to come, Mr Trump himself savaged Labour’s controversial Net Zero plans.<\/p>\n
