{"id":63953,"date":"2026-05-16T07:20:20","date_gmt":"2026-05-16T11:20:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateofthenation.info\/?p=63953"},"modified":"2026-05-16T07:20:20","modified_gmt":"2026-05-16T11:20:20","slug":"was-chinas-greeting-by-the-beijing-school-girls-a-response-to-trumps-minab-massacre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation.info\/?p=63953","title":{"rendered":"<h2><b><i>Was China&#8217;s Greeting by the Beijing School Girls a Response To Trump&#8217;s &#8220;Minab Massacre&#8221;?!<\/i><\/b><\/h2>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\">Trump\u2019s Greeting by Chinese School Girls<\/h2>\n<p>Renee Parsons<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Given President Donald Trump\u2019s expectations for a successful high stakes meeting on trade, AI and rare earth minerals during his first bilateral summit to China in nine years, he was accompanied by more than a dozen of the <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/116565066757116256\"><span class=\"s1\">World\u2019s Greatest Businessmen\/women<\/span><\/a>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Prior to departure for China, President Trump had said that<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>\u201c<i>Xi Jinping will NOT touch Taiwan while he\u2019s in the White House\u201d <\/i>while just ahead of liftoff, a bipartisan group of Senators forwarded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foreign.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/05082026%2520Bipartisan%2520Letter%2520to%2520President%2520Trump%2520on%2520Taiwan.pdf\"><span class=\"s1\">a letter<\/span><\/a> to the President.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The letter suggested they had unrealistically high expectations for the President to<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>\u201c<i>make clear that America\u2019s support for Taiwan is inviolable<\/i>\u201d and went on to suggest that \u201c<i>You can make clear to Beijing that as you seek to level the economic playing field, American support for Taiwan is not up for negotiation<\/i>.\u201d <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In addition, the letter requested that the President \u201d <i>formally notify the $14 billion in U.S. arms sales to Taiwan that Congress pre-approved in January 2025<\/i>\u201d as if the risk of US intervention in Taiwan would be applicable at that moment.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The letter was signed by six Democratic Senators and two Republicans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">What is more than incredulous is that six senior US Senators would believe it appropriate for the President, on his way into a highly sensitive, political &#8211; diplomatic Summit with the world\u2019s most prominent economic and political dignitary, to pressure his host with accusations in support of Taiwan while debating Chinese \u201c<i>aggression.<\/i>\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Wisely, as far as is known, the President did not present the letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping or his representative nor do we know if Trump who is not known for his analytical standards, even read the letter.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Meanwhile, upon the <a href=\"https:\/\/video.search.yahoo.com\/search\/video;_ylt=AwrO6YkcogdqKAIAIqhXNyoA;_ylu=Y29sbwNncTEEcG9zAzIEdnRpZAMEc2VjA3Nj?type=E210US714G0&amp;p=Trump+Arrives+in+China&amp;fr=mcafee&amp;turl=https:\/\/tse2.mm.bing.net\/th\/id\/OVF.g43rmNXFxUMAr3i3sSxYzg?pid=Api&amp;w=296&amp;h=156&amp;c=7&amp;p=0&amp;rurl=https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=PGrLRgA5Bpo&amp;tit=Trump+arrives+in+Beijing+for+high-stakes+summit+with+Xi&amp;pos=21&amp;vid=8d77bb5d2e6ee22763c74472a5d1ba2c&amp;sigr=PDNfY6fyaxQU&amp;sigt=jZkfIRmoRDe.&amp;sigi=wWWZVVVBmUK6\"><span class=\"s1\">arrival of Air Force One<\/span><\/a>, Chinese President Xi was not in attendance as several low level diplomats were on hand to greet the US President as well as hundreds of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/video\/honor-guard-and-school-children-greet-trump-and-xi-at-beijing-arrival-ceremony-263283781945\"><span class=\"s1\">cheering Chinese school girls<\/span><\/a> similar to the same age as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-in\/news\/world\/photos-of-children-killed-in-iran-school-missile-strike-displayed-at-iranian-embassy-in-new-delhi\/ar-AA23h0KB\"><span class=\"s1\">170 school girls<\/span><\/a> killed in Iran on the first day of the Iran war. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Trump missed that the Chinese have subtle ways of communicating or making their point.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As the Chinese and US diplomatic parties united for their first meeting, President Xi \u2018s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bing.com\/videos\/riverview\/relatedvideo?q=Trump+Xi+greeting&amp;mid=E642A0F1CC61477B53DAE642A0F1CC61477B53DA&amp;churl=&amp;FORM=VIRE\"><span class=\"s1\">opening statement<\/span><\/a> expressed<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>the \u201c<i>whole world is watching as currently transformation not seen in a century is accelerating across the globe; the<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>international world is turbulent and fluid\u201d <\/i>with Xi asking<i> \u201cCan China and US overcome <\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bing.com\/search?pglt=299&amp;q=Thucydides+trap&amp;cvid=7f3851f315494c7db16369d67c14eb68&amp;gs_lcrp=EgRlZGdlKgYIABBFGDkyBggAEEUYOTIGCAEQABhAMgYIAhAAGEAyBggDEAAYQDIGCAQQABhAMgYIBRAAGEAyBggGEAAYQDIGCAcQABhAMgYICBAAGEDSAQkxNjUwNGowajeoAgCwAgA&amp;FORM=ANNTA1&amp;PC=LCTS&amp;source=chrome.ob\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>Thucydides<\/i><\/span><\/a><i> trap and create a new paradigm in major country relations<\/i>\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cC<i>an we meet global challenges together and provide more stability for the world;\u2019<\/i> \u2018 <i>we should be partners, not rivals.\u2019<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Privately Xi reminded Trump that \u201c<i>mishandling<\/i>\u2019 <i>Taiwan <\/i>\u201c<i>could lead to clashes or even a conflict<\/i>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Inappropriately seated at Trump\u2019s elbow at the table were his contentious US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and equally contentious White House Advisor Steven Miller. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It was not clear that Trump understood Xi\u2019s reference to Thucydides.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Its history was later explained as it applied to ensuing difficulties arising from one nation\u2019s challenge to oust an established sitting power.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">To his credit, Trump took the occasion to respond in an uncharacteristically positive and more cordial manner, with compliments in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/donald-trump-grovels-to-great-chinese-leader-xi-jinping-in-first-key-meeting-in-beijing\/\"><span class=\"s1\">constructive fashion<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Trump responded to his greeting at the airport that he<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>was \u201c<i>Especially impressed by those children, they were happy, they were beautiful, those children were amazing<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>and they represent so much to you.\u201d <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/i>It is doubtful that Trump\u2019s lack of personal savvy ever made the connection as Xi smiled and nodded.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Leaving the essential question unanswered whether Trump has the required political sophistication or skill to appropriately deal on sensitive foreign policy affairs with Xi who is a true, master statesman.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">***<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Meanwhile, back in DC, the US Senate was debating its seventh resolution to adopt the War Powers Act offered by Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), a senior member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Despite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/politics\/2026\/03\/25\/americans-broadly-disapprove-of-u-s-military-action-in-iran\/\"><span class=\"s1\">61% of Americans<\/span><\/a> opposed to Trump\u2019s Unconstitutional war of aggression, the Resolution was defeated in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.govtrack.us\/congress\/votes\/119-2026\/s118\"><span class=\"s1\">49-50 vote<\/span><\/a> with one Democrat voting No and four Republicans voting in support of<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>War Powers. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Merkley <a href=\"https:\/\/www.merkley.senate.gov\/merkley-blasts-senate-republicans-for-failing-to-end-trumps-illegal-iran-war\/\"><span class=\"s1\">promised<\/span><\/a> that <i>\u201cUntil this illegal war is over, Democrats will keep forcing votes to hold Senate Republicans accountable for bending the knee to Trump. No more war with Iran!\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Meanwhile as President Trump prepared to depart China with low-energy, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/world\/dejected-trump-reacts-to-china-meeting-with-9-word-response\/ar-AA23a77Z\"><span class=\"s1\">dejected demeanor<\/span><\/a> and an abnormal tight-lipped nine word explanation which said more than Trump would ever admit.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>\u201c<i>It\u2019s great \u2013 a great place.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Incredible.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>China is beautiful.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b><i>Renee Parsons\u00a0<\/i><\/b><i>has been an elected public official in Colorado, an environmental lobbyist with Friends of the Earth and a staff member in the US House of Representative in Washington, DC.
