In 1770, US Second President John Adams coined the phrase \u201cfacts are\u00a0 <\/span>stubborn things<\/span><\/a>\u201d in defense of his Red Coat defendants;\u00a0 <\/span>today that phrase might be amended to \u201cwords are stubborn things<\/i>\u201d which may remind its narrator of long forgotten words.<\/p>\n In 2011, Donald Trump commented on then President Barack Obama\u2019s future plans:\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cOur President will start a war with Iran because he has absolutely <\/i>no ability to negotiate<\/i><\/span><\/a>. He\u2019s weak, and he\u2019s ineffective<\/i>.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>The following year on Sean Hannity\u2019s radio show in January 2012, Trump added, \u201cI say that he starts a war in Iran before the election\u2026 lives will be wasted for no reason<\/i>.\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n As if foreseeing into the future, Trump further insisted that war with Iran would be politically motivated as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Trump with \u201cYou have done great things for Israel<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\n The President clearly has had a preoccupation with Iran since he destroyed the JCPOA Agreement<\/span><\/a> in 2018 which provided certain guarantees\u00a0 <\/span>regarding Iran\u2019s commitment to no nukes.<\/p>\n ***<\/p>\n Soon after Donald Trump\u2019s inauguration in January, 2025, it became apparent that the America First candidate who had pledged a non-interventionist war policy was either a figment of our imagination or perhaps he never existed.\u00a0 <\/span>A quick scroll through his inaugural address<\/span><\/a> presented that day reveals a consistent message with his campaign to bring unity included some of the following selections:<\/p>\n That list includes somewhat predictable, patriotic policy options that represent favorable policies most Americans would support \u2013 the problem is that most of those options have never materialized while some have been directly contrary to Trump administration policy as conveyed to the American people.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n With no explanation of how or why Trump\u2019s inaugural policies dramatically shifted ground, that document may now be seen as little more than a PR<\/span>\u00a0document as if American public would be so easily snookered.<\/p>\n One of the more egregious unmentionables absent from the Inaugural list was any mention of a US $33 billion contribution<\/span><\/a> for Israel\u2019s genocide in Gaza providing necessary weapons and bombs to destroy the lives of thousands of Palestinians.\u00a0 <\/span>A Report released by the Quincy Institute and Brown University\u2019s Cost of War study concluded that \u201cIsrael\u2019s prolonged and devastating military campaign would not have been possible without US financing, weapons, and political backing\u201d <\/i>and that\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cAn increasing share of Israel\u2019s arsenal would be down for maintenance without US contractor mechanics and spare parts.\u201d <\/i><\/p>\n <\/i>The report <\/i>confirmed that arms deliveries continued under the Biden Administration and the Trump Administration. <\/i><\/p>\n As if the Trump Administration is beyond public embarrassment or public disclosure of its generosity to genocide were not sufficient reason for Trump to withdraw its backing, the Trump administration continues to further dig its hole deeper in its defense of Israel\u2019s genocide case<\/span><\/a> pending before the\u00a0 <\/span>International Court of Justice<\/span><\/a>, a case brought by South Africa.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n As the Court considers whether genocide can be legally charged<\/span><\/a> as a war crime pending the genocide convention created in 1948, the US filing to the Court rejects allegations<\/span><\/a> of genocide as a simplistic effort to \u201cdelegitimize<\/i>\u201d Israel as a country.<\/p>\n Meanwhile as the US-Israel coordinated war against Iran continues as a war of aggression which is again contrary to Trump\u2019s inaugural promises, Trump threatened to attack Iran energy facilities in 48 hours if the Hormuz Strait was not opened to unfettered traffic.<\/p>\n Suddenly, before the self imposed deadline, Trump announced that the US and Iran had \u2018very <\/i>good and productive con<\/i><\/span><\/a>versations regarding a complete\u00a0 <\/span>and total resolution of our hostilities in the Middle East\u2026.and postponed all military strikes against Iran for a five day period.\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n
