{"id":54450,"date":"2026-03-09T14:11:03","date_gmt":"2026-03-09T18:11:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateofthenation.info\/?p=54450"},"modified":"2026-03-09T14:11:03","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T18:11:03","slug":"trump-negotiations-opened-door-to-war","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation.info\/?p=54450","title":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Trump \u2018Negotiations\u2019 Opened Door To War<\/b><\/h2>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more-->Renee Parsons<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As a massive <a href=\"https:\/\/open.substack.com\/live-stream\/123322\"><span class=\"s1\">regional war<\/span><\/a> rages throughout the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dropsitenews.com\/\"><span class=\"s1\">Middle East<\/span><\/a>, US President Donald Trump\u2019s fatal decision to attack Iran continues to provide a horrific war narrative in partnership with Israel\u2019s world famous war criminal, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. That partnership nurtured, after his seventh visit to the once-sacrosanct Oval Office, initiated the second unprovoked, unconstitutional attack on Iran \u2013 this latest attack on February 28<span class=\"s2\"><sup>th<\/sup><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">After weeks of indecision and the fa\u00e7ade of diplomatic negotiations, originally dubbed Operation Epic Fury (aka Epstein Fury), Trump failed to conduct a constitutional briefing to the US Congress; is in violation of the UN Charter and international law as he failed to inform the American public about why he decided to wage another illegal, premeditated war against Iran and why those negotiations failed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Trump\u2019s delay was possibly due to his own doubts about whether he would politically survive the mid term election or his own weak character knowing he had been hustled into another unprovoked aggression by Israel\u2019s demonic love of war, death and destruction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">That attack was originally hyped as a short term conflict to assuage the anti-war American public as if Iran would easily collapse into the arms of the most powerful, the biggest and the best military in the whole wide world.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Even before the conflict became a full fledged war, when it became apparent that Trump was willing to \u2018negotiate\u2019 with the Iranians, the President was frequently flipping his objective<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>&#8211; were negotiations to be focused on Iran\u2019s use of nuclear energy or its enrichment of uranium or<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>was it the ballistic missile threat or perhaps it was merely \u2018regime change\u2019 as if the US had the right to decide any other nation\u2019s \u2018regime\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">From the beginning, Trump\u2019s selected negotiators were lacking professional experience to conduct high profile negotiations with Trump conveniently appointing his son in law Jared Kushner and a NYC crony Steve Witkoff, both of whom are Zionists with real estate backgrounds and active relationships with Israel.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Neither had any experience in diplomacy or any familiarity with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iaea.org\/sites\/default\/files\/publications\/magazines\/bulletin\/bull10-4\/10403501117.pdf\"><span class=\"s1\">Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty<\/span><\/a><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>(NPT).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Scrutinizing the negotiating process reveals that when US and Iran representatives met in an attempt to find common ground and resolve their differences, the \u2018negotiations\u2019 quickly deteriorated into little more than a stalling process creating a political theatre to enhance President Trump\u2019s image in his quest for peace \u2013 an alleged quest that was doomed from the start.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The negotiations could have been productive if Trump had appointed professional diplomats with some experience dealing with high level war-and-peace questions or politically sensitive issues as well as an openminded approach truly seeking peace would have been helpful.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.com\/US\/status-irans-nuclear-facilities-remain-unclear-attacks-continue\/story?id=130713247\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>A deal was at our reach<\/i><\/span><\/a><i>, and we left Geneva happily with the understanding that we can reach a deal next time we meet<\/i>,&#8221;<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Iran Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated in anticipation that Iran would \u201c<i>focus on discussions that accept enrichment inside Iran while building trust that enrichment is and will stay <\/i><span class=\"s3\"><i>for peaceful purposes<\/i><\/span><i>.&#8221;<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">If there is a question of how\/why the \u2018negotiations\u2019 failed to resolve the impending conflict regarding Iran\u2019s use of nuclear energy, there is a simple ominous answer.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">What were the negotiators to negotiate if the President had not been able to settle on one single basis for war with Iran, if there was no real understanding of the nature of their negotiation. In the final analysis, it makes little difference since there was no one real objective identified that would forestall the attacks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The attacks were always on the agenda; the negotiations were meant to impress the gullible Americans that there was a serious attempt to forestall an attack and that the US did its best but it was the fault of those damned Iranians who would not<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>cooperate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The uncertainty about exactly what was being negotiated confirms that the PR around the negotiations was always a fraud.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Both<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Witkoff\/Kushner were \u2018<i>playing with\u2019<\/i> Iran since there was no agreement on any one topic that would have stopped an impending attack. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">After their first \u2018negotiation\u2019 session,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Witkoff reported with an incredulous tone that Iran declared they had an \u201c<span class=\"s3\"><i>inalienable right<\/i><\/span><i> to enrich all their nuclear fuel<\/i>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/trump-steve-witkoff-iran-enriched-uranium-11-nuclear-bombs\/\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>That&#8217;s how they opened up<\/i><\/span><\/a>,&#8221; Witkoff complained. &#8220;<i>We, of course, responded that the president feels we have the inalienable right to stop you, <\/i><span class=\"s3\"><i>dead in your tracks<\/i><\/span>.&#8221; <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Witkoff continued<i> <\/i>\u2026\u201d<i>which told us <\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/trump-steve-witkoff-iran-enriched-uranium-11-nuclear-bombs\/\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>at that very moment<\/i><\/span><\/a><i> that they had no notion of doing anything other than retaining enrichment for the purpose of weaponizing<\/i>&#8220;. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The dye was already cast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Clearly, Witkoff was offended by Iranian use of the \u201c<i>inalienable right<\/i>\u201d phrase.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>As an uninformed mediator, Witkoff had not understood that the Iranians were absolutely correct in their assertion.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The <span class=\"s3\">Iranians did have an \u2018<i>inalienable right\u2019<\/i><\/span> as spelled out in Article IV of the NPT.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">However,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>the Witkoff Kushner team maintained their antagonistic view with no clue about the NPT or that Article IV existed but that the Iranians were totally correct in their assertion and that Article IV that was very clear and specific to the point.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">After the fact, Omani foreign minister Badr Alblusaidi who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commondreams.org\/news\/oman-foreign-minister-iran-deal\"><span class=\"s1\">participated<\/span><\/a> in the negotiations as a mediator, reiterated on Face the Nation that \u201c<i>Iran agreed it will &#8220;never, ever&#8221; have nuclear material to create a bomb. Iran agreed too full and comprehensive verification by the IAEA\u201d.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.commondreams.org\/news\/oman-foreign-minister-iran-deal\">Hours before<\/a><\/span> President Trump announced his decision to bomb Iran, Alblusaidi<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>went public to inform the American people that \u201c<i>a <\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2026\/2\/28\/peace-within-reach-as-iran-agrees-no-nuclear-material-stockpile-oman-fm\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>peace deal<\/i><\/span><\/a><i> is within our reach<\/i>.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>By that time, Trump was intent on war.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Instead, IF Trump\u2019s hand picked negotiators had been familiar with Article IV \u2018s reference to an <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Treaty_on_the_Non-Proliferation_of_Nuclear_Weapons\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>inalienable right<\/i><\/span><\/a><i> <\/i>as identified in the NPT as the Iranian negotiators had attempted to include in their arbitration, conceivably there could have been a peaceful outcome.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">IF Witkoff and Kushner had a better understanding of their role as negotiators, had a better understanding of<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>what the Iranians were trying to convey about the NPT\u2019s requirements and its allowance for reprocessing of uranium for peaceful purposes, this disastrous deadly conflict could have been avoided.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/2001-2009.state.gov\/t\/isn\/rls\/fs\/2001\/3052.htm\">Article IV<\/a><\/span> of the NPT states: \u201c<i>Nothing in this treaty shall be interpreted as affecting the <\/i><span class=\"s3\"><i>inalienable right of all<\/i><\/span><i> the parties to develop research, production and use of nuclear energy <\/i><span class=\"s3\"><i>for peaceful purposes<\/i><\/span><i> without discrimination\u201d <\/i>and further that<i> \u201call Parties have the right to participate in, the fullest possible exchange of equipment, materials and scientific and technological information for the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Article IV also provides for the transfer of nuclear technology and materials to NPT Parties for peaceful purposes in the development of civilian nuclear energy programs, subject to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iaea.org\/sites\/default\/files\/publications\/magazines\/bulletin\/bull10-4\/10403501117.pdf\"><span class=\"s1\">IAEA<\/span><\/a> safeguards to demonstrate that their nuclear programs are not being used for the development of nuclear weapons.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Specifically Article IV of the NPT acknowledges the right of all Parties to develop nuclear energy for peaceful purposes as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bing.com\/search?pglt=299&amp;q=Nuclear+Non+proliferation+treaty+permits+enrichment+of+uranium&amp;cvid=c14f731ffbc242e2a635ab06ca2b336f&amp;gs_lcrp=EgRlZGdlKgYIABBFGDsyBggAEEUYOzIGCAEQRRg8MgYIAhBFGDwyBggDEEUYPDIHCAQQ6wcYQNIBCDgwNDFqMGoxqAIIsAIB&amp;FORM=ANNTA1&amp;PC=LCTS\"><span class=\"s1\">permits the enrichment of uranium<\/span><\/a> for peaceful purposes.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In 1968 both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iaea.org\/sites\/default\/files\/publications\/magazines\/bulletin\/bull10-4\/10403501117.pdf\"><span class=\"s1\">Iran and Israel were parties<\/span><\/a> to the NPT as Iran has always been agreeable to IAEA<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>inspections.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">initially agreeing to the <a href=\"https:\/\/d.docs.live.net\/d9ffe11047f9b865\/possess%2520nuclear%2520weapons\"><span class=\"s1\">Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty<\/span><\/a> in theory in 1968, the nation of Israel never signed or ratified the NPT as adopted; Israel remains<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>the only nation in the Middle East to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Israel_and_weapons_of_mass_destruction\"><span class=\"s1\">possess nuclear weapons<\/span><\/a> and its refusal to adhere to the IAEA inspections.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Israel has denied the existence of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aa.com.tr\/en\/middle-east\/explainer-dimona-what-to-know-about-israel-s-nuclear-site\/3852733\"><span class=\"s1\">Dimona Nuclear plant<\/span><\/a> for decades, is the only UN member not a party to the NPT as it is also not a party to the Biological Weapons Convention or the Chemical Weapons Convention and has never participated in the <a href=\"https:\/\/meetings.unoda.org\/me-nwmdfz\/conference-on-the-establishment-of-a-middle-east-zone-free-of-nuclear-weapons-and-other-weapons-of-mass-destruction-sixth-session-2025\"><span class=\"s1\">Weapons of Mass Destruction Free Zone. <\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">***<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">&#8220;<i>To our steadfast partner, Israel.
