US President Donald Trump has expelled prominent conservative talk show host Tucker Carlson from his Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, saying Carlson has\u00a0\u201clost his way.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The breaking point between the two came over the US-Israeli attack on Iran, which Carlson has characterized as\u00a0\u201cabsolutely disgusting and evil.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cTucker has lost his way. I knew that a long time ago, and he\u2019s not MAGA,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Trump said in an interview with ABC News on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cMAGA is saving our country. MAGA is making our country great again. MAGA is America first, and Tucker is none of those things,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0the US president added.<\/p>\n

During his 2024 election campaign, Trump vowed to avoid foreign interventions, promising to be a\u00a0\u201cpeace president,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0and assuring supporters he was\u00a0\u201cnot going to start a war, I\u2019m going to stop wars.\u201d<\/em> This became a core MAGA campaign theme.<\/p>\n

Carlson, the former Fox News host, was given a prime speaking slot at the Republican National Convention in 2024 and interviewed Trump during his campaign. Now he runs the Tucker Carlson Network, an online streaming platform which he has increasingly used to advocate for a non-interventionist foreign policy.<\/p>\n

His content has also been used by RT, and he has conducted high-profile interviews with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.<\/p>\n

Last June, Trump called Carlson\u00a0\u201ckooky\u201d<\/em>\u00a0on Truth Social after the journalist criticized those urging military action against the Islamic Republic.<\/p>\n

Trump has recently lost another prominent ally \u2013 former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. Their relationship soured late last year over the release of documents related to the deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Greene accused Trump of preventing the files\u2019 disclosure and pushed for full transparency.<\/p>\n

Trump in turn called her\u00a0\u201cwacky\u201d<\/em>\u00a0and a\u00a0\u201cranting lunatic,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0leading to Greene\u2019s resignation from Congress in January.<\/p>\n

The feud has escalated further over US military strikes on Iran, with Greene questioning Trump\u2019s\u00a0\u201cmental state\u201d<\/em>\u00a0and accusing his administration of being\u00a0\u201csick f*cking liars\u201d<\/em>\u00a0for pursuing what she sees as a betrayal of the president’s\u00a0\u201cno more foreign wars\u201d<\/em>\u00a0campaign promise.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
