President Donald Trump is facing a furious MAGA backlash after embarking on an unauthorized strike in Iran that he admits will kill U.S. citizens.<\/p>\n

After being urged by sections of his own base not to enter another foreign war, the president announced on Saturday morning that he had launched a major attack on Iran as he vowed to eliminate the country\u2019s nuclear program\u2014which he insisted months ago had been completely \u201cobliterated\u201d\u2014and bring about a change in government.<\/p>\n

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson told ABC\u2019s Jonathan Karl that the attack on Iran was \u201cabsolutely disgusting and evil.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Former Trump ally Marjorie Taylor Greene took to X to blast the president, accusing him of abandoning his \u201cAmerica First\u201d principles.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, America is going to be force fed and gas lighted all the \u201cnoble\u201d reasons the American \u201cPeace\u201d President and Pro-Peace administration had to go to war once again this year, after being in power for only a year,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNOBODY WANTS THIS WAR,\u201d said the Trump-aligned, self-proclaimed misogynist Andrew Tate, a friend of Donald Trump Jr and the president\u2019s other son, Barron.<\/p>\n

MAGA congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna\u00a0wrote on X<\/a>: \u201cHold our country in prayer right now. Hold our service members and their families in prayer right now. Hold the innocent people of Iran in prayer right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alt-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos was less diplomatic.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, how disgusting. F— you, Mr. President,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

Far-right figure Nick Fuentes posted on X: \u201c@realDonaldTrump NO WAR WITH IRAN. ISRAEL IS DRAGGING US TO WAR. AMERICA FIRST.\u201d<\/p>\n

The strike took place in the middle of the night, without Congressional approval\u2014which is required by law\u2014as most Americans were asleep.<\/p>\n

Only hours earlier, amid the biggest military build-up in the Middle East since the Iraq War, Vice President JD Vance had tried to assuage MAGA fears, telling the Washington Post that there was \u201cno chance\u201d the United States would end up in a years-long conflict without a clear end.<\/p>\n

\u201cActs of war unauthorized by Congress,\u201d noted Republican Thomas Massie, who had been trying to push through new laws that would force the president to seek approval before striking Iran.<\/p>\n

But in an eight-minute video announcing the move, Trump sought to justify his \u201cmajor combat operations\u201d on the basis that Iran had refused to reach a deal to cease its nuclear program.<\/p>\n

He then called on Iranians to overthrow their government when the U.S. military operation came to an end.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be yours to take. This will be, probably, your only chance for generations,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n
