One way or another, it appears that a final showdown in the Middle East is going to happen. The tyrants that are running Iran have slaughtered tens of thousands of protesters, they have just deployed ballistic missiles that travel so fast that they can reach Israel\u00a0in 10 minutes<\/a>, it has been reported that they have been\u00a0\u201cdeveloping biological and chemical warheads\u201d<\/a>\u00a0for their long-range ballistic missiles, and during negotiations with the Trump administration they are absolutely refusing to make any significant compromises. They are calling President Trump\u2019s bluff, and they are daring him to act. At this stage, it is not entirely clear what Trump intends to do. Military officials outlined operational concepts to degrade the program, including strikes on key manufacturing sites.<\/p>\n \u201cWe told the Americans we will strike alone if Iran crosses the red line we set on ballistic missiles,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0the source said, adding that Israel is not yet at that threshold but is continuously tracking developments inside Iran.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n This is a major bombshell.<\/p>\n But at the moment most news sources in the U.S. are focused on the Super Bowl and other matters.<\/p>\n When Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visits the White House on Wednesday, Iran\u2019s ballistic missile program will be\u00a0a major topic of discussion<\/a>\u2026<\/p>\n Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will fly to Washington to meet with US President Donald Trump on Wednesday to discuss Iran, his office announced Saturday night, a day after US-Iranian talks were held in Oman.<\/p>\n \u201cThe prime minister believes that any negotiations must include restrictions on ballistic missiles and an end to support for the Iranian axis,\u201d the Prime Minister\u2019s Office said in its statement announcing the meeting, indicating concerns about the progress of the US-Iran talks thus far.<\/p>\n Netanyahu will depart for Washington on Tuesday, a source with knowledge told The Times of Israel Saturday. He will meet with the president Wednesday morning local time, and depart the US on Thursday, landing back in Israel Friday morning local time, the source said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Needless to say, when they meet Netanyahu will be pressuring Trump to attack Iran.<\/p>\n I think that Trump would have preferred a diplomatic solution, but the Iranians are insisting that they must be allowed to continue to enrich uranium, and during the negotiations that just took place in Oman\u00a0they wouldn\u2019t even talk about their ballistic missile program<\/a>\u2026<\/p>\n Before the meetings, Iranian officials insisted they only wanted to discuss issues related to the nuclear program, and that other matters such as Iran\u2019s ballistic missile program, proxies across the region and domestic unrest were off limits.<\/p>\n The US had demanded a broader set of discussions that includes ballistic missiles, Tehran\u2019s armed proxies that remain a danger to US and Israeli interests in the region, and Iran\u2019s recent brutal crackdown on protests.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The Iranians are drawing a line in the sand.<\/p>\n They will not stop enriching uranium.<\/p>\n They will not even consider negotiating with us regarding their ballistic missile program.<\/p>\n They will never stop funding proxies throughout the region.<\/p>\n And they just killed tens of thousands of their own citizens and they don\u2019t care what we think about that.<\/p>\n So there is not going to be a negotiated solution.<\/p>\n That means that President Trump has a decision to make, and the U.S. military buildup continues.<\/p>\n We are being told that\u00a0more than 100 military cargo planes<\/a>\u00a0have already traveled to the Middle East\u2026<\/p>\n This as on Friday the prominent open source account\u00a0Armchair Admiral<\/a>\u00a0and others used public flight tracking data to tally that the huge armada of US Air Force C-17s and counting are en route \u2013 a trend since mid-January.<\/p>\n \u201cA total of 112 U.S. Air Force C-17\u2019s have now either arrived or are en route to the Middle East with a further 17-18 in-progress flights<\/strong>, a number of Royal Air Force logistics flights from RAF Marham to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, and movement on U.S. Air Force CORONETs,\u201d the source said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Of course this doesn\u2019t mean that there is a guarantee that Trump will pull the trigger.<\/p>\n As we have seen, he can be persuaded to change his mind at any time.<\/p>\n But if we do attack, the Iranians are warning that they will retaliate\u00a0by striking U.S. bases in the region<\/a>\u2026<\/p>\n FM Abbas Araghchi asserted Tehran is not intimidated but that this raises\u00a0\u201cdoubts about the other party\u2019s seriousness and readiness to engage in genuine negotiations.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0He added: \u201cWe are closely monitoring the situation, assessing all the signals, and will decide whether to continue the negotiations.\u201d<\/p>\n Prior to these weekend comments, the Iranian top diplomat stated, \u201cIf the United States launches an attack against us, we do not have the capability to attack its territory, so we would target American bases in the region. This would draw the entire region into war.
