A high-level\u00a0White House<\/a>\u00a0summit intended to address global energy markets has instead pivoted to a national debate over President\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>‘s cognitive health after he interrupted the meeting to comment on the room’s architecture.<\/p>\n The incident, captured in a viral video, provided fresh ammunition for critics who have long questioned the 79-year-old president’s mental state. It comes amid persistent, unverified rumours that he is receiving treatment for Alzheimer’s disease.<\/p>\n Earlier today, US President Donald Trump briefly interrupted a White House meeting on Venezuela with oil and gas executives.\u00a0 \u201cIf we had a ballroom,\u201d the President joked, saying that they weren\u2019t able to fit all the executives\u00a0in the East Room. \u201cWe\u2019d have over one thousand people. I\u2019ve never known your industry was this big,\u201d he said referring to the oil and gas executives in the meeting.\u00a0 Trump paused and said: \u201cIn fact, if you look, come to think of it \u2014 wow, I\u2019ve got to look at this myself.\u201d The President paused again and turned towards the floor-to-ceiling window behind him \u2014 from the window you can see the construction site of the new White House ballroom he is building, after tearing down the East Wing.\u00a0 Trump then walked to the window and said: \u201cWow, what a view. This is the door to the ballroom. What a job.\u201d The people in the room laughed.\u00a0 He continued: \u201cUnusual time to look, but I figured\u00a0we might as well do it.
