President Trump is poised to restore his populist image following the disastrous
\noff-year election results that sent a clear message from his MAGA base and
\nindependents that dealing with the “affordability” issue is essential to successfully
\ngoverning contemporary America.<\/p>\n
As Democratic populist James Carville reminded Clinton back in the day, “it’s the
\neconomy stupid!” That is not the only topic motivating voters but is often the
\nprimary one that determines who gets elected.<\/p>\n
Now comes the ever resourceful Bad Man Orange with what I consider a brilliant
\nidea that can quickly elevate his image as a man of the people despite his billionaire
\nstatus and playboy lifestyle that jeopardized his standing with those finding his ties
\nto Epstein repugnant.<\/p>\n
His proposal to kill Obamacare is a potential political grand slam that should appeal
\nto populists of all stripes following its failure to meet the goal of expanding health care
\nto millions at reduced cost.<\/p>\n
Putting cash back in the pockets of every hard-working Jill and Joe confronted with the
\nhigh cost of living in today’s America is a sure bet to win over an electorate already upset
\nwith the globe-trotting president’s multiple unfulfilled promises.<\/p>\n
Other than keeping his pledge to end the Biden invasion by stemming the flow of immigrants across our borders, Trump has fallen short in most areas of high concern to voters. Yes, he has set the tone that many MAGA faithful resonate with when it comes to their core values about marriage, gender and social issues. But all that gets muted when the basics like food, rent and health care become prohibitive.<\/p>\n
By stepping up boldly with the prospect of by-passing the inept Congress, rebating up to
\n$6,000+ to financially squeezed voters and sending a message to the Dems by killing the
\ndisliked Obamacare, Trump can rapidly erase the negative stain of the recent election and
\nhis mistakes relating to a foreign policy that has been inconsistent with the America First
\ntheme he campaigned on,<\/p>\n
Sending $40 billion to Argentina while continuing to support the wars in Ukraine and Gaza simultaneous with interventionist posturing towards Venezuela, Nigeria, Denmark and elsewhere is more consistent with a Pax Americana, Neocon agenda that has long irked populists across the board and could have readily led to a Sanders victory in 2016 had the Democrats not stolen the nomination from Bernie and handed it to Hillary.<\/p>\n
I urge Trump to follow through with this new proposal and hope the Republicans get on
\nboard as well. It may not lead to a constitutionally suspect third term for him but will likely enhance whatever chances they have to keep power in the future.<\/p>\n
Failure to do so will only enhance the likelihood of more Mamdani socialists popping up
\nacross the land and\/or the formation of a new political party along the lines I have been
