Howard Rubin, 70,\u00a0<\/strong>was taken into custody Friday morning at his home in Fairfield, Connecticut. According to a\u00a010-count indictment<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>unsealed in a Brooklyn federal court,\u00a0Rubin is accused of sex-trafficking at least 10 women between 2009 and 2019<\/strong>\u00a0– luring them to various NYC hotels and a Manhattan penthouse with a soundproofed BDSM\u00a0sex dungeon\u00a0<\/strong>– where he\u00a0restrained, beat, and shocked them with electricity<\/strong>,\u00a0according to<\/a>\u00a0the US Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn.<\/p>\n Rubin reportedly spent\u00a0at least $1 million on said activities<\/strong>. He has also been charged with\u00a0bank fraud related to false statements on financial documents during a civil lawsuit stemming from these activities.<\/p>\n “As alleged, the defendants used Rubin\u2019s wealth to mislead and recruit women to engage in commercial sex acts, where\u00a0Rubin then tortured women beyond their consent, causing lasting physical and\/or psychological pain, in some cases physical injuries<\/strong>,”\u00a0Brooklyn US Attorney Joseph Nocella said in a statement.<\/p>\n One of the West 57th Street penthouse bedrooms was soundproofed and painted red<\/strong>, and had a device that was used to\u00a0shock or electrocute the women,<\/strong>\u00a0the feds said. The room also had\u00a0a cross and bed with restraints where the women would be bound and gagged<\/strong>, according to the authorities. -NY Post<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Allegations against Rubin are\u00a0not new<\/strong>, as he’s been on the radar since at least 2017. Among the alleged acts he paid\u00a0$2,000 – $5,000\u00a0<\/strong>per session (via the\u00a0NY Post<\/em>);<\/p>\n “I\u2019m going to rape you like I rape my daughter<\/strong><\/em>,” he reportedly shouted during one of the alleged assaults.<\/p>\n Some of the women agreed to a safe word – that Rubin\u00a0allegedly ignored<\/strong>. Others were gagged so they couldn’t object, and prosecutors say he would even continue if a woman passed out.<\/p>\n Rubin also reportedly referenced Disney movies (like Jes Staley with Epstein), telling another alleged victim that\u00a0rape was natural<\/strong>\u00a0– referencing “Beauty and the Beast” (though in the movie Belle was clearly ready to have sex with Beast before he turned back into a human).<\/p>\n From 2009\u20132019; Rubin initially used luxury Manhattan hotels, then a leased the ‘sex dungeon’ penthouse. There were also encounters in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n According to the indictment, Rubin’s personal assistant – Jennifer Powers, is also facing sex-trafficking charges tied to her boss’s proclivities. Powers\u00a0Assisted Rubin from 2011\u20132019. Her role allegedly included\u00a0recruiting women<\/strong>\u00a0(often former Playboy models via social media or prostitution networks),\u00a0arranging flights and accommodations\u00a0<\/strong>(e.g., to New York airports in Queens),\u00a0securing NDAs, procuring BDSM equipment, managing payments\u00a0<\/strong>(sometimes structured to avoid $10,000 thresholds),\u00a0and handling complaints\/injuries<\/strong>\u00a0(e.g., advising ice or bruise cream, minimizing Rubin’s behavior). Rubin funded her lifestyle – some $8 million from 2018\u20132023 – including rent, schooling, legal fees, and a Texas home mortgage he co-signed.<\/p>\n In one text exchange, Rubin allegedly texted Powers that he had a woman tied to his cross, to which Powers replied “I can only imagine what you did to her on that cross!!!
