Unless something changes, in less than a month, Texas will end Robert’s life despite overwhelming evidence he’s actually innocent.<\/h3>\n

A few months ago, I reached out to the co-author of this essay, Margaret Amshay, to see if she\u2019d be interested in working on a piece about Robert Roberson\u2019s fast-approaching<\/a> execution date. She said yes within minutes.<\/em><\/p>\n

I met Margaret last year, just before Robert\u2019s October 2024 execution date, and we quickly bonded over our shared passion for abolishing state murder and seeking justice for Robert.<\/em><\/p>\n

Margaret is a 2025 graduate of Harvard Law School. She recently passed the bar in North Carolina. Later this fall, she\u2019ll start her career as a public defender with the Mecklenburg County PD\u2019s Office. In law school, she interned for Robert\u2019s post-conviction counsel.<\/em><\/p>\n
