The new Director of National Intelligence is targeting Obama\u2019s legacy and maybe even his freedom,\u00a0detailing<\/a>\u00a0a \u201ctreasonous conspiracy committed by officials at the highest level of our government,\u201d announcing that everyone involved \u201cmust be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.\u201d<\/p>\n Ten days ago, news broke that Donald Trump\u2019s Justice Department\u00a0opened criminal investigations<\/a>\u00a0into two of Obama\u2019s top deputies, former FBI chief James Comey and former CIA head John Brennan.\u00a0<\/strong>Last Sunday, Gabbard\u2019s ODNI hosted an \u201curgent\u201d meeting<\/a>\u00a0to discuss \u201cnew information on Russiagate\u201d with members of the\u00a0Justice Department<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0President\u2019s Intelligence Advisory Board<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n All week, Washington buzzed with rumors about imminent document releases, but what came out wasn\u2019t what many expected.\u00a0Gabbard\u2019s documents show the Obama White House overruling months of reports downplaying Russian interference and ordering subordinates to set a time bomb of manipulated intelligence, with the aim of trying to, as Gabbard described it, \u201cusurp\u201d an incoming president.<\/strong>\u00a0No longer a tertiary character, Obama is now \u201ccenter square\u201d in the Russiagate scam, as one source put it.<\/em><\/p>\n Mainstream press outlets like the\u00a0New York Times<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Politico<\/a>\u00a0have already run pieces quoting Democratic Party mouthpieces shrugging off Gabbard\u2019s reports as \u201cbaseless\u201d and an attempt to \u201cchange the subject,\u201d but coverage may not matter, as the investigation into the Trump-Russia hoax is no longer about trying to change hearts and minds.\u00a0Multiple sources say Gabbard\u2019s team is focused on \u201caccountability\u201d by gathering evidence for court-ready cases.\u00a0<\/strong>The matter may soon need a special prosecutor, putting Obama in the same position Trump occupied in the first two years of his presidency, on the run from a high-profile fox hunt.<\/em><\/p>\n The information from Gabbard\u2019s office was not the only news on the Russiagate front. Another expressed skepticism that anything of significance would come of these investigations, and pointed to Special Counsel John Durham\u2019s ill-fated probe: \u201cIt\u2019s always something.\u201d Thanks to the investigation kicked off by this ICA and the subsequent probe by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, there are people who went to jail, fell ill, went through family crises, and dealt with other serious problems. As a result, there are a lot of eyes on this investigation, and high expectations.
