US President Donald Trump has said that he might entertain the idea of deporting Elon Musk and could consider getting the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to look into the billionaire\u2019s government contracts.<\/p>\n

The president\u2019s comments come amid a very public falling out between him and Musk, who was until recently one of Trump\u2019s staunchest supporters. Last month, Musk stepped down as the head of DOGE after heavily criticizing Trump\u2019s\u00a0\u201cbig, beautiful\u201d<\/em>\u00a0budget bill, which includes a $5 trillion debt ceiling increase.<\/p>\n

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Trump was asked if he would look at deporting Elon Musk\u00a0\u2013 a naturalized US citizen\u00a0\u2013 to his native South Africa, to which the president replied:\u00a0\u201cI don\u2019t know, we\u2019ll have to take a look.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWe might have to put DOGE on Elon,\u201d the president added, noting that \u201cDOGE is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon.\u201d\u00a0<\/em>Trump further pointed out that Musk had been getting a\u00a0\u201clot of subsidies.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cElon\u2019s very upset that the [Electrical Vehicle] mandate is going to be terminated,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>Trump said, stating that\u00a0\u201cnot everybody wants an electric car.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Earlier, Trump also\u00a0posted<\/a>\u00a0on his Truth Social platform that Musk\u00a0\u201cknew, long before he so strongly endorsed me for president, that I was strongly against the EV Mandate.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0The president said that electric cars are\u00a0\u201cfine\u201d<\/em>\u00a0but objected to having everyone forced to own one.<\/p>\n

Trump suggested in his post that without subsidies, Musk could end up having to\u00a0\u201cclose up shop and head back home to South Africa.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0This, according to Trump, could save the US\u00a0\u201ca fortune,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0as Musk would no longer be engaged in any rocket launches, satellites, or electric car production.<\/p>\n

\u201dPerhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Trump wrote.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Musk has continued to attack Trump\u2019s budget bill, claiming that it undermines his work with DOGE to cut federal spending.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Musk wrote on X on Tuesday.\u00a0\u201cThey will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0he warned.<\/p>\n

Musk also reiterated calls to establish a new\u00a0\u201cAmerica Party\u201d<\/em>\u00a0to serve as an alternative to the\u00a0\u201cDemocrat-Republican uniparty so that the people actually have a voice.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
