Wildfires in Los Angeles<\/a>\u00a0are tearing through the Pacific Palisades neighborhood, home to A-list actors, including\u00a0Ben Affleck<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 who bought his $20.5 million mansion there in July.<\/p>\n Other celebrities, including Tom Hanks,\u00a0Reese Witherspoon<\/a>, Michael Keaton, Adam Sandler,\u00a0Miles Teller<\/a>, and Eugene Levy, also live in the neighborhood.<\/p>\n The area, located between Santa Monica and Malibu in northern Los Angeles, is home to\u00a0some of the country’s most expensive real estate<\/a>. The average house price is $4.5 million, according to\u00a0Realtor.com data<\/a>.<\/p>\n The fire started on Tuesday in the Pacific Palisades before spreading west toward the Malibu stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway. On Wednesday, the city of Malibu issued a statement on X advising residents to prepare to evacuate.<\/p>\n Among the at least 130,000 LA residents asked to evacuate their homes because of the fire was the “Star Wars<\/a>” actor Mark Hamill. He said on Instagram that he had left his Malibu home on Tuesday with his wife, Marilou, and their dog, Trixie. He described it as the “most horrific fire since ’93.”<\/p>\n “Evacuated Malibu so last-minute there were small fires on both sides of the road as we approached PCH,” he wrote.<\/p>\n
